- Monthly Meetings: The primary club event is the monthly meeting normally every 3rd Thursday at 7:00 P.M. (6:30 Fish Tales and Friends) Each month we have a presentation on some aspect of fly fishing which will be interesting and informative. We may in addition watch a video. Topics include fly fishing locations and skills for warm, cold and salt water species, equipment, water craft, entomology, fishing and casting techniques, member trips and celebrity or vendor presenters. A raffle is conducted for flys, tied and donated by our members. We will briefly discuss club business, upcoming events and activities.The meeting will be preceded by a half hour of socializing with refreshments. We encourage you to join us, all are welcome. - Fly Tying: Twice a month, every 2nd and 4th Thursday, we meet to tie flys. This a social event as well as a learning experience. One of our more experienced tiers will bring supplies for everyone and lead the group in tieing a new fly. A nominal fee is charged for supplies. Great fun and a perfect way to learn to tie and learn new flies. Tiers from beginner to veterans are welcome and will always learn something new. Loaner fly tying tools are available. - Training: Fly fishing training events such as casting (loaner rods can be provided), fly tying (materials provided at a nominal fee and tools availble for loan to beginners), and rod building classes.
- Library: We maintain a library of fly fishing related books and maps as well as videos in both VHS tape and DVD formats. Subjects include fly fishing, how-to books, etc. Subjects include; fly tying, fishing locations, maps, entomology (study of insects).
- Outings & Trips: (Club organized). During the year the club will organize fishing trips to local and regional fishing venues. Twice a year we go to Mountain Home, Arkansas to fish the famed White and Norfolk Rivers, and some attend the conclaves there at those times. We have other events such as the May Fly outing at Wilson Lake, and other trips to N.C., local waters and the Gulf.
- Swap Meets: Unload your junk! At least once a year we will get together to swap and sell gear that we can't use and others value. But don't unload it all because we need donations for the following event.
- TVFF Banquet and Auction: Our annual event in the fall is a highlight of the year. We have an excellent catered meal followed by an auction. Donated items are auctioned by our own founding club member Johnny Chambliss. He is wonderfully entertaining and we have a great time. This is the primary fundraising event for our club.
- Support of FFF: Members attend and participate in regional FFF events. We encourage our members to join and support the FFF.
- Education: In addition to our internal educations programs, we have outreach education programs in the community.
- Conservation: The club supports local and national conservation efforts through individual donations and participation and through club donations and participation. We take on a project each year.
- Community Support: We typically participate in community outdoor sport events. We also offer training to community groups such as scouting.
- Board of Directors Meetings: A BOD meeting, open to all members,will be held on the 1st Thursdays of February, May, August and November in our normal meeting place at 7:00 P.M. All members are welcome to attend. Minutes will be made available via the newsletter and website.
