Monthly Meetings

•The primary club event is monthly meetings, which are every third Thursday at 7 pm. Click here for meeting location.

• During our meetings our program will be led by a presenter who discusses or demonstrates a wide range of subjects such as:

Descriptions and locations of Fly Fishing opportunities including warm water and cold water species, primarily in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina.
Several club members also have experience in Central & South America, Florida and Arkansas (White and North Fork Rivers)
Fly Fishing equipment including the merits of different fly rod construction and fly lines.
How to make furled leaders and your own special purpose leaders.
Water craft for fly fishing.
Club business updates
Raffle member donated items such as flies. This is one of our fund raising activities.

Fly Tying

"Almost Free" Fly tying sessions are held every 2nd and 4th Thursdays at the same location as the regular monthly meetings. A nominal contribution is requested to cover the provided materials. Bring your own tying tools or we can provide a few sets of tools.

Different fly patterns are taught at each tying session by one of the club members.

Several club members participate in fly tying quite of lot therefore, they are highly skilled and have demonstrated their techniques at nationally attended events. However, they also find time to teach others during the tying sessions and many club members appreciate this.

Fly Tying sessions are held twice each month on the second and fourth Thursday at 7 pm.

The meeting location is at Faith Presbyterian Church at the corner of Whitesburg Dr. and Airport/Carl T. Jones. (center building, 2nd floor) Click here for a Google map location.
